石川県金沢市にて、鉄竿に巻き取ったガラスを水蒸気の力で膨らませ、竿を回して遠心力と重力の自然の力のみで形作る「ピン・ブロウ」という技法で透明度の高い作品を作る艸田正樹氏。
作為を削いでいく程に現れるシンプルなフォルムは、自然を想像させてくれます。
ご自身が火に炙られ、水を求める感覚の中で心に浮かんだイメージや印象からタイトルを名づけられています。
器の形をしていても使う道具を作っている感覚ではなかったので、作品を作っている時に浮かんだイメージや印象を言葉にされ器そのものが持つ印象を大事にされています。
